How Japanese sports cars SHOULD be

Was just browsing around gathering info and thinking about a new project car when I came across these, and thought I would share:

A nice clean sexy looking 91-95 MR-2:

And some dynos, not this particular car, but shows what the 2.0L I4 3S-GTE in these cars is capable of. I like the torque in the first one myself, 375 ft/lbs at 3,500 RPM from a 4 banger :Q:

The Gen 2 MR2s weigh in around 2800 lbs and can see 2500 lbs with basic weight reduction.

I hope ricers with the 70 HP winged civics are taking good notes, particularly on style and taste. :laugh: Remember even fast rice is still rice!

I like MX-5s, not so keen on the MR-2s but they're not half bad little machines either 🙂

Heh I dug up some exhaust clips from the built up MR-2s and thank god they have performance exhaust systems that don't look like rice cans and sound like pissed off mesquitos. Sounds more like a Italian V12 even though its only a 4 banger 🙂

Doesn't sound half bad for a 4 banger as long as you accept that it will never sound like a cammed V8 😀
