How many drives, how many partitions, main folders for organization etc?

Me:

80 gig WD 800JB in 2 partitions

C: 25 gigs for windows and installations
D: the balance for data. Folders are:

/ftp for ftp stuff
/downloads is my default download directory
/music is obvious

That's it for now. I'm gonna put linux on here again soon, so that'll eat some space and give me 2 more partitions...

2 hard drives. 20 GB and 40 GB. The 20 is for Windows and all other installed programs. The 40 is for data and nothing else.

1 40GB Maxtor 7200RPM drive
1 17GB Quantum KA + 7200RPM drive

40GB - Split to C and D drive (C= 10GB for Windows only, nothing else is installed, and D is for storage... porn and other stuff)
17GB - Only one partition taking up the whole drive. This is where all my programs/games are installed. None is installed on C drive. This way, I can just reinstall windows without worring about loosing everything.

2x40 raid-0

2.5 winxp
5.5 scratch/temp/cdburn temp
8 games
8 games (again)
8 prog installs
8 server files
8 download temp/media
8 mp3 1
8 mp3 2
8 personal documents/work/data
8 fat32 backup of data/drivers

why the "8"? long time ago read that win98 worked best in 8GB and below partitions/drives before it would misbehave. guess its just habit, but i do notice that 8gb fits EXACTLY what i need for the most part.

2xMaxtor 7200 40Gb, IDE raid 1

Windows 2k

C: drive - everything.

I've tried doing the whole partitioning thing with data/programs + windows on different partitions, but when I had to reinstall windows I still had to reinstall all my apps because all the registry settings were lost. Then I tried data/programs/windows on diff partitions, same thing. Then I tried everything on the same drive and my hard drive crashed, so I lost everything and now I use raid 1.

Sorry, but asking me to reveal one of my deepest secrets, such as, "How is your hard drive set up?", is ALMOST akin to asking if you can see my wife's panties. :D
