How is VisionTek

I did miss that part. In fact, I've looked through his posts in this thread and am still missing it. 😕 Maybe I need more caffeine?

All I found was a mention that he "registered the card last week," which would put him OUT of a lifetime warranty and into a 1 year warranty.

And of course their warranty statement says...

His picture of the invoice shows order placed on 8/15/12 and shipping date 9/26/12

If this is the case I will avoid Visiontek forever (disclaimer: I'm semi skeptical anyways 😀). What a joke if you actually didn't receive the card for over a month.

To be fair, the reference 7970 visiontek card was on sale for below $370 with a bunch of games and it's gone on and off of sales at various retailers for the past few months. It sold out very quickly from the US tigerdirect site when one of the sales hit (I think within a day).

How is this confusing?

The "purchase date" is 8/15, per the invoice you posted.

Register before 9/15 = limited lifetime warranty.
Register after 9/15 = limited 1 year warranty.
There was a order date and shiping date
No purchase date.
Until product is not your posssion; does not consider purchase.
It does consider as an order. 😉

They are a smaller company. Which means cheaper components.

People can run them without problem, while others RMA.

Get a quality company. Like EVGA or ASUS ...... etc... 😉
I love EVGA; if they were selling ATi/AMD video card; they would have been my choice. Thought of XFX but their new warrantty understanding little beyond me 🙁

Sounds like a bad "NOT" joke 😛
My mistake
COPY Paste didn't copy properly. :'(

I actually meant it was a joke if they wouldn't have allowed him to register the warranty because it was over a month from the "purchase" before it shipped. That was completely unacceptable in my opinion. I understand they ran out of stock and couldn't ship, it was just if they had actually calculated the purchase date (for the warranty time limit) and not the shipping / received date. Just a minor clarification.

Anyways OP, I'm glad you got that resolved. I won't cross VisionTek off my list. 😉
