I am looking to get away from FPS & more into Strategy Based Games such as Toy Soldiers. Has anyone played this game yet on PC. Its only $10.00 on Steam.

I am just tired of the same old FPS so I really want to wonder into something new. I really want a game that is very addicting

I have alot of experience with it, having the game on the 360 with everything accomplished, and I'm halfway through the PC version.

It is a tower defense game, but you can control vehicles while you play also, including tanks and planes. There is alot of strategy involved, where you might want to wait til the last possible second to put up a tower, while using a bomber to kill enemy towers, or try to accomplish objectives like challenges while playing.

The art style, sound, graphics and the whole package has the quality of a Blizzard or Sid Meier title; I wouldnt' have bought it again on Steam if it wasn't one of those great games I will play again and again over the years.

But... this is nerfed version. There is no multiplayer, and while you could easily put in 50 hours trying to get General and all challenges done in single player, multiplayer was a blast on the 360 (minus the griefing 'run your planes into the enemy toy box' strat). You can't rebind any keys, so if you like to setup your keys, you need a profile-capable keyboard.

A definate buy, even without the multiplayer and PC perks you might expect. Fun, interesing, and challenging.

Thanks its something I am looking for. Ive been gaming since I was very young and I just need a change from MMO & FPS games. I picked up a bunch of racing games & I am going to pick this up. I just need a change cause I am getting bored of current games

No rebinding of the keyboard, unfortunately -- still working this issue out as I'm left-handed and prefer the arrow keys to WASD. Supposedly someone fixed it with GlovePIE, which I'm going to try.

I too love the game. It is a great combination of TD and FPS. My only gripes with TS are:

1) Requires a 1 gig card to play (only one of my PCs has such a card). The game does not support 1900x1080 and the graphics are not that complex so I do not understand the need for having a 1 gig card.

2) The game has a limited set of campaigns. Once I completed it I felt a big let-down.

Wha?

It does not require a 1gb card to play ;)

My father's computer w an x1900xtx 512mb runs it just fine. :colbert:

Just want to recommend "Orcs Must Die" if you're looking for something a little different (but still enjoy the FPS + settin' meh traps mindset). I got it for $4.99 on eBay (Steam key bundled with a game) and I've played the dickens out of it.

It also has expansions/DLC's.

I'm scared to try it. I've only played one tower defence game and I got addicted to it, I actually played over 250 hours of Defence Grid, unless Steam is lying to me.

I'd be scared too ... I've played both and TS is much more immersive and fun to play.

I am so happy that TS works on your Dad's computer ... but the "official" HW requirements clearly state that the game requires a 1 GB card.

Care to share how you got it to work with a 512MB card? Any special tricks?

WTF are you smoking? Can you share with the rest of us?

How the hell old are you ... like 5? I stated the simple fact, the developer's minimum requirements ... and then asked a simple question. I have a system similar to the one listed and I CANNOT get TS to work ... it simply CTD. There have been a lot of threads started on the STEAM forums and the developers website complaining about this issue but no workable solutions have been found. I was hoping you had found one ... but I guess not.

If you can't answer a simple question go away ...
