So I am getting an HD4870X2 for my secondary computer and I decided I would just take the PSU from my main rig and put it into the other one, meaning I will have to buy a new PSU for my main rig. This isnt a big deal since I an in the process of maxing out all of the universal parts of the computer. Case, PSU, fans, fan controllers, drives.......

So how does this PSU look?

That's more than enough for more than 4 modern cards. You don't need that much power. 450W is enough for a single card. For 2-way SLI or CFX, you'd need 650W, for 3-way, 900W, 4-way requires around 1100W (these all have safety margins for the CPU, and other power consumption is pretty negligible). I think you can trust Thermaltake at the high end, but I think there are cheaper options for that much power like the 1200W Antec High Power Pro for $191.

If all you're looking for is a modern dual card configuration, the Corsair CX750 is plenty (and pretty cheap at $70AR).

If I wanted a 750w PSU I would just keep the one I have now and buy a 650w for my secondary rig..............

I want a 1200w+ PSU because I plan on upgrading my main rig eventually.

That antec PSU looks good but I want to buy from newegg, and its 300$ there. Plus it has 8 12v rails, I dont want that many rails to deal with.

First of all, define an "eventual" upgrade. When and what? I hate to say this, but with a new generation of cards coming out, it makes more sense to Crossfire two 8XXX cards on a 650-750W PSU (or even go single card) than it does to go tri- or quad-CFX with 6970s. The returns for Crossfiring cards decreases with each card.

I want to quad fire HD8XXX, or GTX 7XX. these cards are just getting me by in the interim, until a suitable replacment comes out. I like having all the power I need no matter what, thats why I bought the biggest case on newegg :D

Rosewill blackhawk ultra, I wanted to never have to buy a new one.

Talk about Roid raging, thats alot of power bro!

Haha, ya. This thing is a BEAST. I just wanted the highest end thing I could get. 1300w platinum PSu is pretty damn good.
