I will be upgrading around christmas time and am already doing some research. I will not be getting the future products to come but products availible now. (Excluding video card). I want a new motherboard, is this a good choice? I know it was rated number 1 by anandtech. DFI LANPARTY UT NF4 ULTRA-D MOTHERBOARD

Well, it depends. The Ultra-D is the best Athlon 64 overclocking board on the market, but if you're not overclocking, you really don't need it. The Chaintech Socket 939 board is a pretty good value, and it'll fit your needs. If you have a bit more money but will not be HEAVILY overclocking, the MSI Neo-4 Platinum is also a great board to consider. It has a ton of really great features, and you'll still be able to get a pretty nice overclock on it, but don't be expecting like an 700Mhz overclock from a 3200+ on it. The DFI would probably give that to you if you a really good HSF though.

dfi nforce4 boards are picky about ram. dfi also requires at least 480watts and with native 24 pin power cord for the motherboard. if your a big fan of corsair or value ram i would get a different board. its picky with both those i mentioned.
