How is this possible?

You're using an outdated version of Memtest. The most current version is Memtest 1.86 or 1.66 or something like that.
 
You are running memtest in a virtual machine? Whats the point? Not only is windows using part of the memory so that part can't be tested, but now you are restricted to only the memory allocated to the vitrual machine? In order to test the full memory, you need the bootable version of memtest + that you run from a bootable CD or floppy..cause the way you are running it, it's not going to see a majority of the ram..
 
Hi, Am I reading this right? Any program, no matter where it's stored has to be loaded into system memory in order to run. Memory tests have been moving themselves to other areas of memory to test all areas of memory for many years. On the other hand, you can not expect a "Sick" device to test itself 100%. Hope this clears up the issue. Luck, Jim
