I'm building a P4 2.53 air cooling system and need to know if this will run fairly quiet. It's goin in an antec performance plus 1080amg. here is a breakdown of the noise:

-MCX4000 + panaflo "high" 80mm 39.6cfm 32dba
-stock 9700 HSF
-antec tru power 430 w/ p.s.
-4 x panaflo "low" 80mm 24.cfm 21dba
-1 x vantec stealth 92mm 28cfm 20dba

might change the P4 fan to the "low" panaflo if I can get away with it. plan on overclocking slightly. let me know what you think or if you have any suggestions to make it quieter. would like to stick with air cooling, thanks.

Nice cooling. You should be fairly dead-silent with that rig. You'll want to make sure to get nice quiet CD/DVD drives and HDs so as to not mess it up.

Oh, and the Antec 1080 with metallic finish kicks royal ass. (Grey or copper finish? :D)

case is metallic grey, didnt even know they had copper. its a pretty sweet case, tons of room. HD is a baracuda which is dead silent. DVD is a little noisy (pioneer slot). burner is a Lite-On 40X12X48, so so for noise. However the cover thats built into the case that closes over the drives seems to help a bit. I'm gonna be modding my video card eventually. Will use a 1U rackmount with another panaflo and some ramsinks.

Instead of the panaflo on the P4 I'm thinking about pickin up a Delta 80mm 80cfm along with a Thermaltake Fan Speed switch which has a low, med, high option. I want to be able to have the necessary cooling if I ever decide to really overclock but will mostly be using it on the low setting. How loud do you think the Delta will be on the low setting which is approx 6 volts? At full power I believe this fan is just over 50 dbs.
