How is this for a budget Video Editing Rig?

I am wanting a PC for lite video editing in Adobe Premiere Pro 2.0 and Adobe Encore 2.0. Will this be reasonable for it?

CPU: C2D E6400 - $218

Mobo: GIGABYTE GA-965P-DS3 - $144.99

RAM: G.Skill 2GB (2 x 1GB) 0 $208.99

HDD: Seagate 320GB - $94.99

Case: COOLER MASTER Centurion 5 - $49.99

PSU: FSP 400W - $41.50

Total: $758.46

I would like to get it below $700 but the only thing I would really like to change is the motherboard so are there any other Mobos that are good for less?

I will be using the monitor, video card and dvd drives from my current pc.
 
it's fine. you could probably get the 6300 for $183 and OC it to higher speeds. i would go with that mobo. it's good/
 
What overclocks could I expect with that mobo and the E6300? compared to that mobo and the E6400

Your system is fast enough, no need to squeeze 3 seconds faster out of it

I'd recommend a 2nd hard drive. You'll notice a speed advantage if your scratch drive is on a different channel (other physical drive) than on the OS drive. I guess whether it's worth it to you or not depends on how "lite" your video editing is. My recommendation is not a "need", but rather a "want" for optimization (and only ~$100 more).

You may want to consider a higher watted PSU. (I don't know PSU's, but I see many comments on them)

To save $$$, if can always get the S3 instead of DS3 version of your motherboard. There are some possible advantages for getting the DS3 over the S3, but you may not need it. (Personally, I'd pick the DS3 over the S3)

You can also drop to a 6300. You can do a mild OC to make up for it easily with that motherboard. Just an option.

You are missing Firewire. Consider getting a CL Audigy 2 ZS with the firewire port in a pinch. Adaptecs usually use TI chipsets, which is the best for compatibility. It is hard to find which have TI chipsets, but if someone knows of the inexpensive cards... MichaelD just ran into this issue.

More HDD too. One for OS/Programs. One for video files (capture, source). One for rendering target (altered files with effects).
