OK,I changed it a lot. Here are the new specs:

Case/PSU - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/acatalog/Antec_Cases.html
£44.65 - Antec SLK1650B Black Quiet Mini Tower Case - 350W SmartPower PSU

Motherboard/CPU/RAM - http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/products...cm9kdWN0X292ZXJ2aWV3&product_uid=91695
£104.28 - Motherboard bundle K7S741MG-6L SKTA with Sempron2400+ OEM and CPU cooler

HDD - http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/products...cm9kdWN0X292ZXJ2aWV3&product_uid=36369
£37.53 - Seagate Barracuda 80Gb 7200rpm UDMA100 Hard Drive - OEM

CDRW Drive - http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/products...cm9kdWN0X292ZXJ2aWV3&product_uid=42134
£11.74 - Liteon 52x24x52 IDE Internal CD-RW Drive - OEM No Software

Total - £198.20

How else can I make it cheaper? Is it still compatible and easy to build? Also, can someone recommend a case w/PSU that is cheaper but will still be good? Cuz £44 for a case/PSU seems a lot. Thanks.

Also, I took Windows out, as I thought I'd build it, and then order Windows IF I got it working. Would this be a good idea? I only want to buy the essential components needed to build it you see.

Try to be ready to face the future.

But as of today try this:
Intel 64bit HT cpu , preferably 2.8-3.0ghz or higher
915chipset with onboard video

or Amd 3000 venice + MSI RS2 480 or something with onbaord graphics if you want better card or if amd is more affordable to you but intel may be beter with features etc maybe

256mb X 2 ddr 400 / or ddr 533/667(something equavlent or better to ddr 400)
if possible take 1gb dual ch
take dual ch

look for a good deal on hd,if possible 160gb seagate sata NCQ or better

While I appreciate your help, that computer is wayyy above my budget, and what I need. I have a decent computer at home (specs in sig), and right now at work I'm running a 433mhz celeron, 10GB HDD, 64MB SDRAM etc. So going from that to the £200 computer I pan to build will be a huge step up, so there's no need for a 64-bit CPU or anything. Thanks though 🙂

Better yet, install Linux.

If you use WindowsXP, get WinXP Professional Edition. Encrypting File System, GPedit, Microsoft Backup and Automated System Recovery, ability to join domains if needed, significantly longer support life at the Microsoft Update website...
