i need to buy upgrade my vid card, and there is this one on sale at compusa for 30 buckslink here the price is pretty good, but i am not sure if this card is good. does anyone have any experience with this product, or if anyone have heard anything about it. btw, under system requirements iit saids "AMD K6-2® 266 MHz processor or higher " does that mean i HAVE TO have a amd k6-2 cpu to use this card? because i have a p3 450Mhz.

for that price range, i would go for a geforce2 gts or a geforce DDR. but there is nothing too wrong with the mx line, they are VALUE cards after all and NOT an enthusiast card. that is what everyone around here does not get

my 2 cents

It means what it says, either an AMD or Intel cpu ,266Mhz or above so you`ll be fine.
GeForce2 MX400 video card are ok if you don`t game much or game with older games,I actually have a Sparkle GF2 MX in my old PC which handles Quake 3,UT,CS etc just fine.

Btw with your 450Mhz CPU it should be a decent match,do remember image quality on GF2 MX does vary a lot between brands.

If you`re more into image quality then look at the budget range of the ATi cards.

Spend a couple of extra bucks and get yourself a radeon 9000. The sell for about 60 bucks on newegg, It'll be a decent preformer. Geforce 2's are old cards, just do yourself a favor so you won't need to upgrade later.

They are way more than good enough for Half Life or CS though ;)

I'd agree with your other recommended options for sure though.
