This is a no brainer, get the Canon S110, just read these Hot Deals threads about how great this compact feature laden digicam is. Why buy it from Amazon.com when you could buy it for as low as $219 shipped with an Amex Blue.

Ross, almost all of the really hot digital camera deals lately used the MSN/Passport rebate which has since expired.

fatbaby: Ross is right, the S110 is a nice camera. But I have read a lot of good things about the Fuji 2800. You can probably get it cheaper than that, though. For instance, Buy.com has it for 335 or so (although it is on backorder).

What's wrong with you, trying to steal my Ferengi thunder away from me?

I agree though.

Yes you should get at least 1 128MB SM.

CostCo B&M's have ScanDisk 128MB SM or CF for $50 with no shipping, no delays, no rebates.

fatbaby: another camera you might consider is the Toshiba PDR-M71. You can get it from the Gateway Accessories store for $355 - $30 coupon (note that they have the wrong picture on the site). Additionally, you can send away for a free kit which includes a 32MB SmartMedia card and some other goodies.

Check out the reviews at Steve's digicams, DCResource.com, or Imaging-Resource.com... it gets good reviews, and maybe this camera would fit your needs.

What will you be using the camera for? If only for online pictures (eBay for example) you really don't need a bucket full of features.

Avoid SanDisk, they're slow cards.

Actually, avoid SM if at all possible. SM technology places the memory control logic inside the camera. CF, OTOH, puts the logic inside the card itself, so CF cameras can handle newer CF card as they come out...they aren't hard-wired.
