This rig is to be build primarily for a dedicated HTPC to be used in conjunction with the rest of my HT.
I play mostly FPS and Flight Sims stuffs.
The display is Mits DLP 73837 with 3dc-1000 kit in coupling with Nividia 3d vision kit.

That looks pretty good. A few comments:

  • The SSDNow V series is not really that good of an SSD. Unless you're getting it for a very good price. I would go for something like a 60GB Agility 2 or an 80GB X25-M
  • The FAEX is fine, but a Samsung F3 is just as fast and cheaper.
  • A 750W PSU is not really needed for that system. The 650TX can be had for $60 AR right now.

Don't waste your time with the BD rom, Case, SSD

BD rom useless, at this point even as backup solution, because it's just not as cost efficient as hard drives.

Case, just don't waste money on this, seriously, 30$ cases cool just as well, and you'll never look at a nice case for more than 2 weeks after you build the computer

SSDD: cheaper at the end of this year / beginning of next year, double the capacity for the price, maybe even speed bumps.

Vidcard is probably inadequate for 3D gaming. Remember you basically half your performance in everything, so two 460's have performance (at best) of a single 460.

I'd be looking at a 470 for 300$.

I use it for primarily 3d movies and ripping.

I do not care how it looks as long as it blends in with the rest of my HT gears.
This case can do full ATX mobo and room for expansion and it runs quiet and cool.

Picked it up for less than $100. I use it for OS and drivers only and it's quiet.

See my embedded comments.
This build is for 3d HTPC only.
I may add a QAM/HDTV tuner for DVR purposes later on.

I did a trial with BFBC2 using the current GXT260 on my 73 DLP. The frame rate is still very playable.
The 470 should help but there is always room for upgrade when budget allows.

The 260 is a power hog and it runs hot which is unsuitable for HTPC environments.
That's why I chose the 460 for now.

30% gaming + 70% movies

460 is only 20 watts less than the 260.

160 vs 182

What you are doing is kind of odd. You want to build an HTPC but for high performance gaming. It can be done but it's going to be hot in there. It looks like you have plenty of fans which is good. Just be careful.
