How is this 8800GTS overclocked so high?

I can do 630/980 on stock cooling and my case is just 40C now. How are they getting their card to clock so high? Is there a trick I'm missing? I see that even with the more powerful Zalman cooler installed that's as high as they can get it. I would love to get my card that high with the stock cooler. Even 700/1050 would be great. Suggestions? Anybody else getting this?

suicide overclock, maybe a hole in the clocks, I can do 700 too, but its not stable for long.... maybe like 10 seconds

so these more recent GTS's use A3-revision? That could be the key since that A3 was introduced with 8800 Ultra. A2's ain't that good overclockers

Think all G80 cores now are A3. These A3 are supposedly use less power (not confirmed but 1~5W difference) and clock much higher.

How does one find out which core he has? I got my card when they first came out so I probably have a first batch GPU.

Have a GTX for a week and the fan is silent compared to the rest of the case which is half as loud as previous case and components. Better temps mean lower fan noise for HTPC ;>|>:>
