how is the sound on gigobyte GA-7DX

I was reading the book for this mainboard and it say that this sound has a digital output. I currently have a SB live value, and was wondering how the sound on this board is compared to the SB live. I have cambridge 5.1 theater speakers and digital decoder. So, I am using the full potential of the SB live. Will i notice a big difference or is it pretty much based on opinion.

hey jdini76,

i dunno if u'll still see this after so long, but i have a ga-7dx, and my board doesn't have a digital output. when i looked inside the manual, it actually lists four speaker & spdif as optional, meaning if u want it, u have to find somewhere that sells it with that option. for a normal 2 speaker system, the on-board sound isn't great, but it's acceptable.

i got a set of the logitech z-560's, so the onboard sound didn't do the trick for me. i'm currently using the aureal vortex2 sq2500. setup was kind of a pain, aureal being out of business and all, but i still get some good sound quality out of it.

hope u found a board that suits ur needs.
