How is the Saturn Sky?

I've got an 08' RedLine with the brake problem, it's really not that bad. When you first start it up you lose power assist on the brakes and the abs kicks in to try to assist, feels weird at first but once you expect it it's fine. The tops not even that bad really takes 20 sec to put it up or down. It's a really good car it's a shame it doesn't get the respect it deserves.

Crazy do you have the GM LNF tune? If so how do you find it? I'm thinking about getting it done in Sept.

Edit typo

200 pounds lighter, vastly better drivetrain, fastest top in the industry IIRC, much better handling, perfect 50/50 weight distribution with front/mid-engined design, better exhaust note, much larger aftermarket. According to Car and Driver, the S2000 is 0.1 second quicker to 60 and 0.2 second/2 MPH faster through the quarter, and stops from 70 MPH in 17 fewer feet. Available bolt-ons will take you close to 400 HP at the wheels. Huge international community following with regional clubs. Race series devoted to car. Very easy to work on at home. Manufacturer is not bankrupt. And so on...

The Sky has... more relaxed driving in town. Which is about 1,387 on my list of things I care about in a car like this.

It's an easy choice unless you've got a "built in america" chip on your shoulder.

S2000 weight is 2850lb, the Skystice weigh 2940lb. That's 90lbs, not 200lbs.

The only thing better about the S2000 drive train is that it's engine revs higher and the transmission is one of the most amazing this side of $100k. Other than that, the LNF makes more torque and power, vastly greater power potential, better fuel mileage, more driveable, etc.

Skystice has 50/50 weight distribution last time I checked.

In the real world the two are pretty much neck and neck in a straightline. Advantage goes to the Skystice because of its torque advantage. i.e. you don't get punished for being in the wrong gear.

Since when is a turbo a bolt on? Exhaust/intake/headers only give about 10-20whp on an S2000, and in some cases LOSE power.

The Skystice are competent competitors to S2000s as SCCA racing shows. You make it seem like they are an inferior platform.

That said, I drive an S2000 because you don't have to get out of the car to put the top up/down. It looks infinitely better. It sounds better. It feels "tighter". It's a more focused car. The skystice is built for Americans and it's relatively lazy driving reflects such. I also like winding the car out.

Tuned it myself with HPT actually. I like having more control over the boost 😉

They dominate the scca... that more than enough to justify their existence. If you like going around turns this is the car to get, add some 295 wide hoosiers on the stock rims and you're good to go on a track/autocross event.

Sure the trunk is small and you have to get out of the car to put the top down, but the pro's outweigh the cons imo.

I think it looks pretty nice, and I much prefer the Sky over the Solstice. The one thing I wasn't aware of what the issue with raising/lowering the top. That seems odd to me why you would make it difficult.

I think GM went with form over function. Don't the Skystice twins look great with those 'Batcar' humps behind each seat? The top would be fine if it had been motorized, but doing that would have added weight, cost, and complexity.

The "difficulty" of the top is a bit over played. OMG you have to get out of the car NOOOOOO. I have to get out of my miata to put my top up unless I want to rip my shoulder out of socket. The real problem is the lack of storage space.
