Hi all, I just finished building my latest system (see my sig below) and am about to go the Vista Home Premium route (seperate HD of course 🙂 ) and want to get into some DX10 goodness soon. Been an ATI fanboy for many moons. I did have an Nvidia SLI setup not too long ago but was more trouble than it was worth. Anyway, I currently have an ATI X1950XTX card and its still kicks ass but is DX9. I just want to know if the Radeon HD 2600XT 256MB 128-bit GDDR4 card is as fast and my current card or if its a POS low/mid range card. I do plan on getting a much higher end DX10 card as soon as competion emerges and we finally see great cards a good prices. This card is fairly cheap now but if its slower than my current card then its not needed. Thanks!

It's slower than your current card. Only upgrade from what you have with DX10 would be the 8800GTS or the 2900XT. I'd wait for a while personally. Your card is still pretty good for today's games.

The 2600XT is going to be considerably slower than your X1950XTX, which is surpassed only by the 8800 and 2900 cards.

Thats what I figured. Guess i'll stick to my original plan and wait for the next wave of DX10 cards to hit the market. Hopefully ATI's next wave will be better than the first. Thanks all.
