I assume that you're stuck on an external drive, so I won't belabor you about the merits of an internal drive. I can't say that I'm too familiar with that drive, but Iomega doesn't have a reputation for bad CDRW drive quality, so you should be fine. $89.99 for a 40x external drive isn't bad (though you could get an internal 48x drive for $56....). The only thing I'd be careful of is that you have USB 2.0 connections on all computers that you want to use this with - otherwise it drops to a 4x4x6 drive.

Ilmater yep exactly. I need to ask the person why they want a external HD because there is no point sense most computers will only have usb 1.1. I think this person should get a internal cd-rw because either way you will have to open your case sense this person will need usb 2.0 pci card so you need to open the computer up. I just don't want to ask them because this is for christmas. But i am going to find out somewhere to ask them without them knowing somehow.

I am sure Iomega doesn't make the drive itself, but I have had so many Jaz and Zip drives fail I would not take another Iomega product even if you gave it to me. R
