How is the Hitachi CML175B LCD?

Do you own it and is it worth the additional money over the KDS Rad-7xi at costco for $400???
 
The Hitachi CML174(B) is an excellent monitor and like Viper said, the CML175(B) is just the same monitor with speakers.

B? Theres only the one revision of it.

The 175 is just a 174 with crappy speakers built in. I saw a review a week ago, and its just said exactely what ive, and others have said.
 
I know it's got a good pixel response time, but it's contrast ration of 400:1 is still lower than others at 500:1.
Which is more important?

I just downloaded the demo of Unreal II and everything is too dark for my Sylvania L17 LCD.
 
I think the "B" is for black, isn't it?

I had a monitor that uses the same screen as the hitachi, and i didn't like 1) the darks were really dark and 2) if you look closely you could see the pixel grid.

Relatively minor things and I know TONNES of people who couldn't see what I was talking about, but for myself, it drove me nuts.
 
For games, a faster responce time will have more effect on the image quality.
The White/Ivory coloured 174 is called the CML174SXW
The Black/Carbon coloured 174 is called the CML174SXWB
