How is the city of Compton in California?

I plan to go shopping at the Kmart at compton tommorow since its closing down. I was wondering if I should pass this place. Since I remember this city is bad.

I just want to know if its true that its bad. Thanks

i had to drive through 100+ streets of compton one night, never again will i pass through that city...

you should be fine if you're going to a kmart. it's not like you're gonna go to some dark secluded area. :)


heh, speaking of dangerous neighborhoods, i was with some friends once in downey at ~2am in the morning. someone forgot the fill up the gas tank that week... it was pretty interesting/fun wandering around for a while... then we realized what the crap we were doing and bee lined to the nearest gas station. :D

And just to be on the safe side, you might wanna dress up as barney. Can't go wrong with purple, no one wants purple as a gang color... NO ONE!

i remember my grandpa had to take a train that connected in compton (he was born in raised in long beach, and is mexican) and he said you could see hobos just living on the streets. The stench of crap and piss were in the air, and there were alot of bangers walking around...
