It's a re-jigged CUV4X-E, with Tualatin support.

Stick with the TUSL2(-C).

Yeah, but isnt the TUSL2-C just a "re-jigged" CUSL2 for Tualatin support. Or was the CUSL2 always a better mobo. I know it uses the Intel 815 chipset. I thought that the CUV4X was a re-jigged P3V4X only it was Socket 370 instead of Slot one. But I know the P3V4X is based on the VIA133A chipset but I don't recognize the chipset listed with the CUV4X on Newegg. Anyway, it's not that much cheaper so I suppose I better go with the best.

I was investigating cheaper alternatives to the expensive TUSL2 mobo to keep costs down on replacing my P3V4X, which BTW has been a nice stable mobo.

The CUSL2 was a better board than the CUV4X; by extension the TUSL2 is better than the TUV4X.

I'm not saying that the TUV4X is bad, but the TUSL2 is a better choice.

Just installed the TUV4X last night (and it was murder trying to get the heatsink on) and I'm running into a bit of a problem.

Namely, Win98 (first edition) doesn't see any of my optical drives (DVD or CD-RW). Both drives are correctly detected by the BIOS and I can boot to them as well.

Since I can't follow the manual's instructions to let the driver CD autorun, which driver do I need to install first? I'm using an ATI Rage Fury (not Pro) video card, 128MB ram, Diamondmax MX 300 sound card, Pentium 3 1.1Ghz Coppermine.

Is it possible to do an "update driver" on the chipset from device manager or do I need to run a setup file? I was able to copy most of the drivers from the CD into folders on my hard drive through DOS. By most, I mean I only copied the Win9x drivers that I could find.

If any of you has a comprehensive list of which drivers to install and in what order, it would be greatly appreciated. The VIA faq's leave a lot to be desired.
