EDIT:
Can we let this fall?

1. Go to advanced search
2. Enter your search term (try to keep it to one word and the word HAS to be in the Title or Summary as search WILL NOT search the body)
3. Change "Search what" to Title and summary
4. Pick One (1) forum
5. Make sure "Order search results by date" is checked if you want it sorted by date.
6. Cross fingers
7. Click on Search
8. Repeat as need if searching multiple forums
9. Profit

You can also use Google to search the forums:
Enter keyword site:forums.anandtech.com in the search field but substitute your search term for "keyword".
Thanks to Jeff7 and xtknight for this info.

Believe it or not, the search issue is being addressed.

Well, search still doesn't work at all (at least for me) for anything over three months old.

"Any of these words' and 'These exact words" don't work. For instance, searching for ''Sandisk USB" in either of these, title only, Hot Deals, last 10 days, gets lots of results, none of which have either of the words in the title.

theres an option in your profile to set how many days old topics can be displayed. set this as high as possible.

Set it to 9999. It didn't alter anything. Can you search for old threads in advanced search and get results? Is it just me?

hmmm it worked the other day for me, but now I can't see much further back than one year.

I'll see what I can do.

I like the way the old search worked. It would search for the words in the title only. I have tried using advanced search, but only 1 out of 5 actually have the word I am looking for.

The "Search Topic" button, when viewing a thread, doesn't seem to do anything. I would expect it to display only posts that contain the keywords, but it appears to just display the whole thread.

I tried to post a link in one of the forums that went back to an archived post. The search for the old post went ok, I was able to find it. But when I clicked on the search result link to the post, it crashed to the oops error message.

I tried to mess around with the web page link address to match the new forum numbers and the changed entries in the last part of the address with no luck.

I ended up answering the post with a link to a Google cache of the page.

I don't understand why it just isn't fixed. Give a reason. The reason might suck, but at least we'd know why it isn't being fixed.

because we are not able to edit the code ourselves and we must wait for fusetalk to implement a fix for us.

sorry we don't have a better reason for you, but there it is.
