How is raising your child as a vegetarian not child abuse?

So, my question is, how is depriving a child of proper nutrition not child abuse?

Real question is, if it is child abuse, what do you suppose should be done about it? Have the government take people's children away so they can be happy and stuffed full of meat and sing kumbaya in the foster care system?

How is allowing your children to abuse children by making them eat vegetables not child abuse?

Both my parents have been vegetarian now for years, my father for several decades. They are healthier now than they were when they ate meat. I couldn't fully become a vegetarian but I have nothing against those that are.

My wife and I went to dinner tonight with a couple of guys from India who were here on a business trip. One of them had never been to the US previously. Both were vegan and had never eaten meat in their entire life. They seemed plenty healthy to me.

We prefer meat (I had lamb vindaloo and the wife had goat biryani) but if a decent percentage of one of the larger nations on earth can do without it I fail to see how it can be considered child abuse.

Sweet Jesus, you are bringing your trolling to OT now?

Eating vegetarian or even vegan, it is 100% possible to have proper and coimplete nutrition.

If you didn't know that, you're just one ignorant pos. But given your track record of material dishonesty in posting in P&N, I'm guessing you do know that and are just trolling.

Well when my hypothetical kid is old enough to provide their own food he can eat what he wants. Till then he'll eat the gruel I provide or starve

Shit! That's the question I meant to ask them tonight and totally forgot about it.

A shit load more complex than worship cows.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hinduism

I would read most of that but specifically:

"
The cow in Hindu society is traditionally identified as a caretaker and a maternal figure,[163] and Hindu society honours the cow as a symbol of unselfish giving.[164] Cow-slaughter is legally banned in almost all states of India."

A vegetarian can get a perfectly balanced diet but it still doesn't change the fact that it is a stupid and pointless lifestyle choice.

Yeah like that French couple who killed their baby with malnutrition.

Adults can cope with a vegan diet but not children. Children need a lot more supplements to help them cope with a vegan diet than adults do.

Omnivore diet for children - no supplements needed.
Vegan diet for children - supplements needed or death occurs.

Gee I wonder which I would consider more healthy.
