How is Providence, RI? or more specifically Johnson and Wales university?

I'm looking to transfer schools and Johnson and Wales is really the only school that interests me that has Culinary Arts. So I was just wondering if anyone knows anything about these places.

I think Providence has low crime rates? Other than that, I dunno.

J&W is well respected, maybe not quite up to the CIA , but damned good.

Providence is ok, only a few seedy neighborhoods.

RI has become a little foodie haven. The former mayor of Providence, Buddy Cianci, while in office sold a line of food stuffs: Mayor's Own Meat Flavored Pasta Sauce, Mayor's Own Marinara Sauce, the Mayor's Extra Virgin Olive Oil, etc.
Buddy is now in prison with many other former RI politicians.
