Looks like I'm flying up there the 3rd of October for work. How is the weather there? It looks like it's in the 70's but does it usually feel warmer or cooler?

Carlisle, PA to be exact.

Better than Texas :^D

It might get chilly at night, especially for a Texan, but you may not want to go back after feeling weather fit for humanity. Lows 50s-Upper 60s day time, upper 30s-Lower 50s night time. Always a chance of rain.

As much as I hate to admit it I agree. Those temps seem perfect for me.

In October it can fluctuate wildly. I've seen snow here in Oct. and I've seen 80 degrees. Generally, though, you can count on cool weather as lxs stated. Carlisle is basically a Turnpike stop so not much to do there but some pretty country around it.

Carlisle, not much there as chihlidog says. Temperature is more stable than western PA. I am still wearing short sleeves and pants, but I am moving towards long sleeves (I like to be on the cool side).

Carlisle is about an hour away from me. In october it will be a good bit cooler than it is now. Probably highs in the 50's/60's, lows in the 40's.

Nice time of year for PA, less humid and the leaves will be changing soon. How long are you going to be there?

If you're referring to snow, bring it on. Christmas time is supposed to be cold and snowy. Any place that isn't doing that is doing it wrong :^D

Fall's my favorite time of year, but I'd take perpetual winter over a single month of Texas summer.

I just got stuck in Georgia for 4 months, and the best 4 months of a year that one can possibly be stuck in Georgia.. end of May through mid-September. ;)

Holy hell I never want to do that again. :D

Seriously, I would have much preferred Ohio's summer, though it was pretty hot everywhere for awhile.
When it comes to winter, I'd like about 1 month of it, then I'm absolutely sick of the shit. The cold and snow drive me mad. I wouldn't mind 40s, 50s, 60s all fall winter and spring, and then give me a summer of 70s and 80s and I'll be happy with that year.

fwiw, Fall here in NW Ohio is my absolutely favorite time of year weather wise.
Summer is almost my favorite time of year, because I love summer nights so much.

Carlisle is near Harrisburg, which is near Hershey Park. If you've never been there, it might be fun to check it out.

i went to college in Carlisle, there are not that many amish is that area, you need to go further easy before you hit a large amount of them

Or west... New Wilmington.. Home of the Amish on this side of PA.

with your car? o_O

Carlisle always has a classic car show which I've went to before and drooled over all the gorgeous classic Mustangs.
