How is Penicillin V Pottasium different from Regular Penicillin forgot to ask DR today.

Not an "expert" since this is not a med I give, but the potassium helps with quicker absorbtion I believe.

I've never seen a preparation of Penicillin V that isn't the potassium salt.

Penicillin V is an oral form of penicillin. The older Penicillin G is destroyed by acid, and therefore can only be given by injection.

Other penicillins that are widely used include amoxicillin and ampicillin. These are also active orally, but have a different spectrum of action (i.e. they kill some bugs that PenV doesn't but aren't so good at killing others).
