I think OT opens the registration doors every once in a while. I joined several months ago and use it for topics that are too risque for ATOT

Ah Christ, the first rule of OT is don't talk about OT! Don't link people to the site, there's enough people as is! I'm serious about this too.

Well anyway to answer your question, OT is owned by a single person (Fazle on that board) who supports the site out of pocket. Yes, that means he's loaded. He's also dedicated to making the site ad-free but lately has been forced into asking people to make donations where they can to support the site. Great guy who's put a lot of money where his mouth is in supporting the community over there.

That answer everything, I guess. As I mentioned earlier, please de-link the site and just refer to it as "OT"...

dudes.... did you know that you can use pubes as a form of currency in most middle eastern countries???
apparently they accept bags of shaven pubes instead of money so that they can suck on them or put them on a sandwich or something

Actually advertising it may not be a bad idea. If he sets it up so that people who donate can subscribe to the forums he could make some money. It looks interesting to me, and I suspect a few hundred other Anandtechers, who would pay for a subcription there.
