How is Neverwinter?

Wasn't able to find any threads, just wondering how it is. Looks a bit button-mashy from preview videos, but sounds like it has some cool stuff like being able to make up your own quests. I'm not expecting a lot since it's F2P, but would like to give it a shot if it is worth it.

some of my friends wanted to try it so we all downloaded it. we all played for about an hour and all stopped playing because all four of us agreed it sucked major ass. seriously, just really terrible. it isnt even just one thing.. the whole game felt clunky to us. never made it farther than the start zone because chatting in party was horrible, combat was horrible, movement was jerky, and no other compelling reason to keep playing. we all started playing rift instead.

It's a 1 vs 100 and you'll win MMO. So easy. The ONLY redeeming thing about it: You don't auto regen health. You need to find a camp fire in town or have a cleric/healer in your party. Because of that, you don't take a lot of damage per mob.

The user created missions will troll you. Like you are told a story, put into a dungeon/map, and there is no way to complete it. You try for awhile, then realize they are giggling at all the stupid folks who tried their mission and failed to complete it, and exit out. Too many people don't even bother with user created missions.

Not to mention the network engine is horrible. Go in town and it's a warp/lag fest. The network code is very bad and can't handle any amount of traffic, so each area is a 16 player max instance. More than that, and it will spawn off new instances. So it's not really "massively" at all. It's 16 people max.

I got to about lvl 20 before I gave up. It felt similar to Rift but even more easy mode. I'd rather play Rift.

I don't find any of those performance issues or char per area limitations. But I did preorder one of the packs which gives priority access so maybe it gives me the better network code too

😉
