Running on a Soltek SL-K8AN2E-GR mobo. The case is Tsunami Dream with 2x 120mm fan: One in front, one in the side window. The third fan is a 120mm exausted fan.

Anyway, the CPU run with a stock HSF/fan. My mobo's own hardware cpu monitor say that my CPU run at 45c normal use. I never tried prime95 yet to see how full load will make the temp go.

Speedfan show up like this:

temp1: 27c
temp2: -38c
temp3: 38c (this one always jump from 37~39...must be the CPU)

anyway, can you guy check it out if my temp are normal? Thanks

Seems normal and pretty good compared to some temps that other mopbo (cough * ABIT * cough) would offer...
What does it load at??? Run something that can hold 100% use for at least 10min and then tell us what that is...The fact 45 is normal use I bet it woulde be like 50-55 under long term prime use. Which again is perfectly fine for that. Stock would work just fine for you then....

Thermaltake Venus 12 CPU Cooler For AMD Opteron and Athlon 64

I plan to get that HFS ^. I know people recommend the Zalman over Thermaltake, but I can't get the Zalman since it's too big. Is the TT V 12 worth it over the stock HSF?

ps: I plan to run Prime95 soon....to see what happen.

I am not sure since I haven't done testing on my own. I see some ppl do fine with stock and others use expensive 40-50 dollar hsf. I think many of the 15-30 dollars ones are just as good. These AMD chips are pretty cool running anyways so I don't think it is much of a concern unless you really want to OC later.

Well, the only thing I do is gaming, otherwise, I just surf the web. That's the 2 thing I do with my computer. So do you recommend me to stay with the stock, or get the TT V12? I don't plan to OC or anything though.

I would test it at full load or after playing a game for a couple of hours and let all the components pump the heat into the case and if you are well into the 60's maybe then..otherwise stick stock until time you may want to OC a bit...

Alright thanks. Tomorrow I'll try to play Far Cry max setting for a couple of hour, and look at what Speedfan shows up with. Let just pretend that it run at 38c right now...

Anyway, if I'm going to get a HSF, would it be the ZALMAN CNPS7000B fits my Soltek SL-K8AN2E-GR or not though.

Hey I'm running a 3500+ newcastle and left it stock. I left it it stock and runs idle about 38 but when I play games at full speed it can get up to 50. I'm thinking about upgrading to the Zalman but I don't know yet. Ambient temperature is also important. It's pretty hot in my room so I would understand why it can get all the way up to 50. It your room it around 70-74 most of the time the temerpature of the processor ( assuming good breathing room for the case) should not get higher than 48 on a full load for 20 minutes. Good luck figure it out!!

I don't know man, my room is very cool. The case is Thermaltake Tsunami which have 2x 120 fans to keep everything cool + 1x 120mm exausted fan. However...the CPU are 38 (according to Speedfan). My BIOS said it's 45c.

I'll try to run Far Cry max set tomorrow for 2 hours, reboot computer and enter BIOS to see the temp. Then see what Speedfan say.

Wow...I just look over the socket of my mobo. The Video card is on the bottom, ram is on the north. Wonder if the Zalman even fits.....
