How is MLB 2004 different thatn 2003, 2002, etc.?

Every year I hear the same features, every year it's the same game with a few stats changed for this years players. Are these really the only differences, or am I way off here?
 
Well this year the Yankees picked up Godzilla, the entire Korean baseball league, and their payroll now rivals our yearly federal budget.
