how is it that virtually every famous man is not bald?

why don't we see any bald presidents anymore? (actually, al gore had a bald spot in the back of his head, but you rarely saw it.) and i'll bet you can count every bald actor you know on one hand (patrick stewart, bruce willis, kevin spacey, sean connery... and i can't think of any others). what's the deal here?

Because they have someone at the ready to spray their head with hair in a bottle just before they go public. Regular people just can't afford that much spray on hair.

BTW,
Al Gore looks like he has a hairpiece. I believe Ted Danson and Burt Reynolds do as well.

I remember watching a program on the science channel on the importance of hair, but I don't remember enough about it. They pointed out the fact that few presidents were bald just as you have.

And yes, as it has been stated, many of those actors you think are not bald actually are. Many wear hair pieces, have plugs, or some other system to hide their hairloss. Ben Affleck comes to mind.

I think it's more that "regular people" just don't care. Their career is not based on a volatile foundation of beauty.

I'm surprised that there aren't more bald leaders. I always thought it made guys like more masculine and prominant.

Are they not bald because they hide it?

Or because there's just less bald famous people, because it's easier to be famous if you're not bald?

Maybe they are famous because they have hair? Probably be tougher to get a acting job if your in your 20s going bald then if you have a full head of hair. Think Brad Pitt would have gotten his role in Thelma and Louise if he was bald?

there have been several pointed out here i had forgotten, but the fact remains the ratio of nonbald to bald men is way disproportionate to the ratio in the general populace. but i suppose it makes sense that the famous are just known through television and movies, and hair pieces/make up/whatever can do a pretty damn good job of convincing us. and i'm thrilled to hear ashton kutcher is going bald :)

Dick Cheney, arguably the 2nd most powerful man in the US, is bald.
I edited that into my post 20 seconds before you posted. :)

Yeah, but I spelled his name correctly. ;)

You also misspelled Rudy Giuliani. And you're a NYer (well, part-time at least)
