How is Forum Performance for Payed Users?

I wrote a message regarding forum performance, but the mods deleted it ... so I'll try phrasing it another way.

I LOVE AnandTech ... and I'm an avid user of the forums ... but I'd like better performance. As I understand it, there is a payed version of the forums available for users that would like to pay to see an increase in performance. For anyone that is a payed user, how do you feel ther performance is? I'm willing to support this site financially, as I use it on a daily basis, but I'd like more feedback on how those payed users feel performance is.

This message isn't as eloquent as my first, but hopefully the mods will allow this one.
If not, please PM me or email me a reason for the deletion. I don't think I'm violating any of the forum rules, and I'm NOT trying to speak negatively about the forums ... Obviously, I'm here because I love them and I use them ... but I'm looking to improve my user experience, and perhaps there are others that would be willing to do the same given enough feedback that the payed-version of AnandTech is a worthwhile investment and produces a noticable difference in performance.

Thanks,
Telstar

telstar1,

Your thread was not deleted. It was moved to forum issues where it should have been posted in the first place. You were also notified of such. BTW, it's "paid", not "payed".

It's not like you're buying a new car, it's $30 a year.

I signed up the day it was available, & haven't regretted it for an instant. The 1000 PM limit is worth the cost to me, the speed & ad-free surfing make the deal even better.

Eliminate one can of Mt Dew a day out of your diet, you'll save enough money in two months to pay for it, plus you might lose a couple lbs.

The forums are VERY responsive all the time for me. Plus, the mods are nice to me now that I'm a subscriber :Q :Q :Q

Supposedly the mods don't have a way of telling who's a subscriber & who's not.

It lasted a month the first time, & I really did notice a difference. I ended up drinking caffeine/sugar again to stay awake in a training class, & unfortunately kept it up. I've drunk nothing but water for the last 4 days. Hopefully it will last longer than a month this time.

I read this and absolutely agree, so I went to the subscriber page to sign myself up, clicked on the link to subscribe for a year, and my company proxy server filter software returned this:

<< Access Denied

Reason: Found in Denied List (Sex/Acts). Entry causing block is secure.ibill.com.

Very interesting, I think. This is Symantec Web Security filter software. I am guessing that some pr0n site used iBill to charge their customers and now the whole site is blacklisted. This is suck. I wanted to subscribe!! I'll have to wait until tonight... :(

I don't post much, but I browse here pretty much every day. For me it was worth it (I opted for the cheaper 3-month version just to test it.) Granted, don't always expect INSTANT downloads, but compared to what the free forums are usually like, it's much faster and more responsive. I also like having access to the full text search capabilities.

It is worth it to me, very quick. I access ATOT at work on a most of the time 19.2 - 24.6k connection, so any added speed is a bonus.

One thing I have yet to understand... Maybe I am unsocial or something, but how can you possibly have 1000 PMs at once???

:)
