How is flying on a "puddle jumper" different than a big plane?

I like them. You can take a big carry-on right to the plane and they put it in the luggage area for you. No playing around trying to find a place in the overhead. Get off the plane, it's right there at the door for you to pick up.

Some of them have a curtain for a cockpit door. If it is open when you land, you can see out the front windshield at the runway that it looks like you are about to crash into. They take off and land differently than big planes and they get knocked around more by drafts.

Well, a puddle jumper is powered by Ancient technology, has the ability to dial any address on the gate from inside the jumper, has a capacity of 9, and has cloaking technology. A big plane has none of that...:p

The puddle jumper only holds a few people, but fits perfectly for stargate travel, which a large plane cannot. It's also armed and can cloak.

oh and it can be fitted with a time travel device, use with caution.

Its 70 seats. I'm 99% sure its a small jet like an ERJ or CRJ. They're small, but ride very well.

Give us more information.

Less standing room (you'll have to crouch as you board and deplane) and less luggage room. They fly lower so if you hit rough weather it's impossible to fly above it. Still, there is nothing I would be concerned about flying a puddle jumper over a big airliner. I've flown them many times, never had a problem.

The one we are flying to Chicago on holds 70 passengers.

One is real, the other is part of SciFi ;)

Nothing to get concerned about. Less time in line and messing around with smaller jets and turboprops.
They fly plenty high to avoid most weather. Even the 747 can't overfly the larger thunderstorms, they have to fly around them.

PUDDLE JUMPER :D

No, I mean you imply some kind of distinction between "real" and "sciFi".

A puddle jumper is just a generic term to describe small aircraft. It doesn't come from your stupid TV show.

Yes but if you're afraid you can opt out.

I wouldn't call 70 passengers a puddle jumper.

In Alaska you don't go through security for the commuter airlines (puddle jumpers) so the guy next to you might be armed. Or you might be... ;)

Oh yeah... and the turbulance is way more fun. :D

Puddle Jumpers, having inertial dampeners, provide a very smooth ride. At hyperspace and regular speeds.
