Well, as long as the upper folks say so.

Cingular is misleading with their commericals and the "fewest dropped calls" It's not a percent, it's a number thing. And, they don't have as many subscribers. That's like me making hard drives, only selling 100 a year and claiming "fewest RMAS!" Now I know Cingular has a lot of customers, but they don't have as many as Verizon, so they may have fewer dropped calls, but I bet the percentage is higher.

is their network getting better? sure, but doesn't mean the commerical ain't false advertising.

You couldnt be more wrong Cingular has more customers than any of the US carriers they are the largest. The comercial is not false it was verified by telephia as discused earlier in this thread.

Telephia doesn't back up the commericals claim, Cingular is LYING flat out, the only claim they can honestly make is "fewest # of dropped calls... uggghhh... when the phones aren't in use!" Cingular took data and ran with it, and foolishly came out with a claim that the original researches won't back up as fact. How can you claim less drop calls when you have an entire state where they can't get decent service? talk to anyone in VA, Cingular will blame their roaming partners, how convient...

Upper Exec's don't lie, people do. This is why I know all my friends *Riverside CA* who sh!t canned Cingular because of poor reception are lying!

somewhat like all the people I know with TMobile who b!tch about quality are also lying. How do I know? the Tmobile commericals clearly state "highest customer service satisfaction rating in all US markets!" Funny when I can't find one person I know in Riverside who even likes Tmobile.

Cingular sucks, I am stuck with them for about another 16 months...pretty bad regret to be honest. Would not touch them with a 10-foot pole again. I live near Atlanta.

Only think I like about Cingular is the SIM card. I absolutly hate Cingular/T-Mobiles coverage where I live. But you can get some bad ass unlocked GSM phones. I have Verizon and my choice of phone is pretty small. And I still refuse to believe the Cingular commerials about fewest dropped calls :)

Verizon>>>>>Cingular here in the northeast. Especially in MA up to ME. No one else provides coverage in ME like Verizon does.
Plus nearly everyone i know uses verizon phones. If i didnt get all these IN minutes for free i'd be screwed with overages.

How's the coverage in NJ? I've had verizon since '98, and quite honestly i'm tired of having "yesterday's" phone, locked and useless of course, for a premium..

Cingular is dead.

RIP Jack

It is now AT&T

Go to HowardForums, they have great tutorials on how to unlock your VZW phone and get all, if not MORE features than GSM phones.

No it's not. You're thinking of when Cingular bought out AT&T Wireless last year.

The parent Company AT&T has now bought out Cingular.

Interesting! I hadn't heard about that yet.. but after a quick Google search it seems like you're right.

LOL, so now the people who used to have AT&T wireless, and now have Cingular, will once again be under AT&T.

a neighbor paid the large about of money to terminate her agreement early from cingular to go to verizon because she was soo fed up with their coverage etc. and the crazy part was she only had about 3 months left! She travels all over the country for a living.

I broke the 2 years contract with cingular. the early terminate fee became smaller and smaller as it get closer to the end of contract.
