How is Cingular Service?

Thinking of jumping from verizon to cingular. I travel quite a bit and was thinking of getting the sidekick2 with the internet access and unlimited wireless. Want to hear general opinions of their service.

- coverage
- reception in your area
- type of phone you have (recommend/ not recommend and why?)
- service levels
- travel / roaming
- customer service

Any help is appreciated! Thanks in advance

South Bay/Los Angeles and my reception is strong like wood. I have the Nokia 6230 and it's great. I've been to a few major areas (Manhattan, Boston, DC, Las Vegas and the whole island of Oahu) with great reception/service. Rollover is sweet too.

Coverage, pretty damn good
Reception in my area, in my house it kinda sucks, but thats cause I'm kinda far from the nearest tower, outside my house I get 4/5 bars
Type of phone, Motorola v600, GREAT phone, my advice to you, if you're not getting something like a Nokia 6230 or a Sony Erriccson S710a, get a free phone and then buy something off myworldphone.com, like a v635
Service levels, not the best person to ask, my dad takes care of the bill, but I was at the Cingular store yesterday with a friend, and someone coming from T-Mobile was mentioning certain T-Mo plans and how much better the Cingular ones were (at the same price), he seemed kinda happy
Roaming, no roaming on my plan, I can take anywhere I want in the US, and some other places too (USVI, PR)
Customer service, don't ever dial 611 unless you have an hour or two to spare, if you have a problem, just drive to the nearest Cingular store.

isn't the sidekick tmobile exclusive?
if you are looking at the sidekick, you can get the unlimited data and keep your verizon service for making phone calls. its about 29.99 per month.

verizon also offers unlimited wireless(its about 45.00 or 79.99 depeding on what plan you get).
