This is a serious question, but I suppose I am wondering how anyone manages to be entertained by Angry Birds for more than a minute?

So far, I haven't found a single iOS "game" worth actually devoting time to.

Are you sure you enjoy anything in life?

Angry Birds roxx. Supposed to get an update to the Rio "expansion" game this month as well.

Anyone who can't understand why this game is fun clearly doesn't like games at all, or is simply as Fritzo said - trying to claim superiority to others. To clarify, I can understand that if you are a gamer you don't like this game, but as a gamer you should understand why others would enjoy it.

"LET ME MAKE A THREAD ABOUT SOMETHING I DON'T LIKE THAT IS EXTREMELY POPULAR SO THAT I CAN DRAW ATTENTION TO MYSELF"

sounds about right for the mind thought process of the OP.

it's just a fun puzzle game with great personality, there really isn't much more to it.

Never played AngryBirds, but Tetris is a classic I like on my dumb phone. I just wish I could start at a higher level. When I start, I randomly drop blocks until I'm close to the top to keep it from being boring.

Oh and I also have to ask, are you a gamer? Because there is no way you can be a gamer and not have found a single iOS game worth playing. There is something good for everyone.

And if this is true, and you are - somehow - a gamer, why the fuck did you buy an iOS device then.

Puzzles and you get to see innocent birds killed.

What could be more fun then watching blood splatter from an innocent poor bird?

It is fun every now and then. I certainly think it got hyped up. I played games like it many years ago online and I think they were probably more well done. I wish I could find them.

Search "Crush the castle"

Same concept. It's fun. Angry Birds looks like the same kind of fun, which if fine, but I don't get why it's as big as it is...making the news....etc.

Because it's worth it to spend the dollar or two so you have something to do while sitting on the can at work.

the greatest value that angry birds provides is the solitude derived from having a 5-year old be completely engaged by it. it's a cheap, digital pacifier made for lazy parents like me.

It'd worth 20 times its price on that alone.

I'm more than a casual gamer (even if I don't game nearly as much as I used to), and I like games like that. Crush the Castle was fun while it lasted, and it sounds like Angry Birds has more levels than it had (although Crush the Castle does support user created levels).

You forgot 3 year olds, 8 year olds, 10 year olds and 11 year olds too. My 11 year old son now constantly asked if he can play angry birds on my phone, thinking it's a way to get around the no video game during the school week rule we have, because, you know... it's a PHONE, not a Nintendo.

meh. I actually tried to like it, but it's just so boring. There's practically no strategy involved. I can't imagine the patience it must have taken to fling birds randomly until 3-starring every level.

You don't fling them randomly. Shot placement brah

I stated in a prior thread that Angry Birds was not fun and just a derivative knock-off of several prior existing "knock down" flash games. Someone told me that the sounds and music made the game better than others; they were completely wrong.

Those who don't enjoy the game are generally gamers.

heh I started playing the web version that was posted here and thought to myself why am I playing this when I could be playing plants vs Zombies, I had picked it up on the steam sale.

Most portable games are meant to be played on the shitter. You can't expect it to be that deep.

There are many mobile phone games I'd rather play but I don't dislike Angry Birds. Not nearly patient enough to 3-star every level though. A lot of levels are tough for me to simply pass, regardless of score!
