How is AMD 4x4 gonna help gamers??

and basically I think it comes down to this.

Most people who game, do not JUST game and that's all. Most people do not go around newegg building a custom $2000 Xbox. So for JUST the gaming aspect, it does not improve things so much that Oblivion will become like BF1942 for your computer to run, but that it will not hinder performance either. Really, Conroe is looking very affordable while giving great performance considering its price. It isn't going to hurt anything, and might even begin to be optimized in 3D applications so that there will be better performance gains latter on.

I didn't go dual core this round as I don't multi task very much. But if I had had a dual CPU that performs like Conroe for the price at the time I was shopping, I would have pulled the triger faster than Clint Eastwood.
