How is Airborne Express?

How well do they ship? As in, are they fedex quality or UPS quality with Fedex being higher?

I've got something coming through them and just used the site's basic shipping for free and it uses Airborne.

Usually they are a better bargain than FedEx or UPS (especially with those OfficeMax coupons in Sunday newspapers).

If Dell S&P ships a digicam via Airborne I am usually happy because the package doesn't appear to have been thrown around.

They are about half a step up from the boys in brown.

I was riding behind one of their delivery vans one time and I could see through the rear windows to the two sitting in the front seat. The passenger was reading the label from one of their delivery boxes and holding it up to the light. After he/she had finished reading the person tossed the package over the left shoulder into the back of the van.

It was at that moment I knew that Airborne would never get any of my business EVER if I could possibly avoid it.

IMO they are strictly 2nd or 3rd tier couriers. Dell uses them for their bargain rates.

A guy I bought something from paid $4 for ground from Maryland area and I got the less than 20 hours later in Washington 😀

Ok, I'm actually anxiously waiting for my Christmas present through them which is also coming through Dell. I hope they turn out good 😀

Do you always base your opinion of companies on one worker? 🙂

I've never had any problems with them at all.

Of course not. I'd had numerous packages come from Airborne that were as bad, or worse that the worst I'd seen from UPS. I didn't mean to suggest this was a one time experience, just the capper.

Concidering my company ships over 50,000 packages with them daily, and I hear about every screw up, they are not that bad.

I prefer FedEx, as it's usually comparable in cost for Ground, and FedEx's tracking is loads better. More frequent scans, IME.

Isn't this thread useless since you already decided to order from a company that ships through Airborne? It's a little late to be asking questions about them imho... this should be done before you order. In fact, you had ~4 previous thread related to you getting the Z-680's. You probably could have asked then...

Edit: also, since Airbone is relatively small compared to the big boys (UPS/FedEx), ymmv with them. They are relatively cheaper however.

What is the Christmas present? It had better be an MP3 player, Dell 600M/D600 laptop or digicam.

i have had them deliver several packages to me and they arrive early in the morning. i've had only gound service and they arrive sometimes before 7am

They took 2 months or so to deliever a book to my house after they said they couldn't find it. They never let me know they couldn't find my house, then they had no tracking number for the package. It was a bummer. And most recently my camera, took them almost 2 weeks to deliever it here. So to Hawaii they pretty much suck in my experience.
