Title pretty much says it.

I already have a webserver but for the life of me I cant figure out how to setup an email server.

The webserver is using my ip address from my cable provider with a dyndns.org webhop address pointing to my public ip address.

I have a domain controller and another 2000server but I cant get that one to join my domain as a backup domain controller???

I am trying to get email started but dont know what do short of going out and getting MS exchange or some other email program.

Windows 2000 doesn't have a built-in Mail server. IIS 5.0 does have a simple SMTP service that will help with ASP development through CDONTS but it is by no means a mail server.

You will have to get hold of Exchange or if you feel like it check out MerakMail.com, i have it configured and it's by far the best i've tested. I've used Mdaemon, IMail and a few others for a good couple of years but this one just beat it in terms of price/features/security and stability.

he's right!

but exchange is a pain to configure. Anything else will be better. Look for the free ones.
