How is $40 AUD for a 3-D Cell Maglite, a mini-Maglite, duracell batteries for both, and a mounting bracket set?

IMHO, the light output of a Maglite is horrible. I'm curious to see how well they perform with the LED conversion however. If you think your dad could use a flashlight, then by all means though. The price isn't all that bad.

I have to admit that i'm not exactly a gigantic 'torch beam' geek (and i have read the various debates on here with some bemusement ), and the ones i've used threw a perfectly acceptable beam for my uses, which are mainly camping oriented...

They seem very well built and rugged into the bargain...

Thankyou for the feedback on the price tho

I agree that the light output on the Maglight is crappy, but it is one durable light. I paid $9.95 for my 3D Maglight at Lowes on Black Friday. I also have a 2D and some small ones around. I outta get a LED bulb and try that out.

Seems like an alright deal. Nothing great...but its ok.

Price be damned, I'm absolutely spoiled by the flashlight that I have now. Sounds crazy for the price, but I think it is worth every penny thus far. Now if only I could get the courage to take it snorkeling at night... But I don't think I will. I'd rather get a pelican for that.
