Hi

I'm asking because I want to know how good/bad the Gigabyte Mercury Pro (water-cooling built-in) case is.

This is numbers from the review on Guru3d:
http://www.guru3d.com/article/cooling/444/11/

I'd like to use it for a Q6600, but would like to know if this is really good enough.

Also - how does this compare to an Ultra-120 Extreme with a decent panaflo?

Thanks

That sounds great, the only way you are going to get temps much lower is with an external large radiator.

As for the comparison, i cant help as im a completely different watercooling setup.

Why is it important to keep your temps lower than what you can get with a good air solution ?

My highest core is around 70 with the Ultra - 120 ; well below the 100 shut down temp ..

P.S.

I couldn't tell from the review what the 33/53 was coming from ???

You have it on a Q, He is showing his results on his E.

Your comparing apples to oranges.

Op, you need to wait for a member who has a 3.6ghz air cooler to compare it to. Also what ambients were you at.

If you want a comparison of how well this kit does in the watercooling world:

Thats off a 250 dollar aprox, setup. Ambients around 75F.

Looks like it's a G0 which might be part of the reason why the idle temps are so low, but we need need to see some load temps. No one buys a quad core to have it sit idly.
