Well, I recently stumbled across some cheap HD-DVD's at my local grocery store (who would have thought?) and considering my LG combo drive supports HD-DVD I figured "why not?".
Now my problem is getting them to playback. I had PowerDVD 9 which doesn't support HD-DVD (why the fuck not Cyberlink???) so I did some searching on the web.
What I found is that PowerDVD 8 supports HD-DVD through adding some files that Cyberlink again just decided to throw out...but apparently adding these missing files back the the folder adds support.
So I downloaded PowerDVD 8 and did this little hack that re-enable HD-DVD support...easy enough...PowerDVD 8 shows the little HD-DVD logo, has options for it in the menu etc, seems to have worked...but when I try a disk PowerDVD just crashes and refuses to work at all no matter what HD-DVD I use...and I bought 11 of them, so I have plenty of options.
I have read that PowerDVD 7 supports HD-DVD fully but I can't find it anywhere...to download or buy...SO!...anyone here have any suggestions as to what I can do?
Is there any other software besides PowerDVD 7 that is readily available that plays HD-DVD?
Thats the only question I have, thanks!
