how in the hell do you open a laptop up?

i'm trying to open a compaq presario 1701 cl. why do they make these things so friggin difficult to open? are there any tricks? all the screws are removed and the front part lifts open but something's not letting go on the end that the lcd display attaches to.

not familiar with that model but a good idea is to take some pics witha digital cam if you have one as you take it apart so you remember how to get it back together
