That's just beyond stupid.

Said the guy who started a thread on ATOT. Too bad you don't have a well-enough developed sense of irony to appreciate the humor in that.

ATOT is not nearly as ignorant as the retards who would buy in to the 'teachings' of Dr Dino

Except that in this case it's a large room of smarter people than the speaker ;)

id have to disagree

it doesn't matter who agrees

It's not really a "fairytale" someone just didn't randomly make this stuff up, there is plently of historical evidence but some of it is made up. ;)

of course there's truth to it. I don't have a problem with that. Just like there probably was a large guy named Paul Bunyan. The problem I see is that the ENTIRE book is taught as truth (namely, the ONLY truth) and that there is no room for open mindedness.

Now, I am done talking about this in this thread, as I don't want it to become a flame war.

Given the thread title, I knew it had to be about religion.

I'm not talking about religion as a whole. I'm talking about a belief that is so painfully flawed that no one in their right mind could believe it

There oughta be a law prohibiting people from having these types of beliefs, right?

Is it against the law now to criticize someone for something in which they believe?

Of course not. But freedom of belief is not exactly a well-respected right here on AT, now is it? Especially not for MAME, whose anti-religious views border on the anti-semitic, as I already pointed out.

Always go beyond the confines of a thread to criticize someone? Taking this post for what it is, a criticism of someone who thinks dinosaurs lived at the same time as mankind, the OP has a valid stance to be critical. Esp. considering there is ZERO scientific evidence to support such a claim.

Yes, and the same could be said for MAME's comments from an earlier thread which I quoted here for him (and he agreed to). So by the same reasoning, I have a valid stance to be critical against him. Something about people living in glass houses who throw rocks...

What a fvcking nutjob. My mother (a religious fanatic) sent me a bunch of video cassettes of Kent Hovind sermons. I never watched them. Instead I recorded over them with cartoons for my son. One day she came over and sat down to watch a video with her grandson and it starts out with about 10 seconds of Hovind and then goes into The Land Before Time. Talk about irony! And it put a stop to her sending me sh!t I don't want.
