Cheap production costs plus decent ratings.....

That's why sci-fi shows rarely survive. Expensive production costs + decent ratings = cancellation.
 
Easy equation actually:

Hot chicks (Clevage + Ass) + Grossness + Smartass comments from dull witted balding host + Egging on = Good rating from male audience
