I'm looking at purchasing the Panasonic THC42HD18 from Costco for my bedroom. After searching it looks like this model is a TH-42PX80U made for Costco whose differences include one less HDMI input, no Digital Cinema Reality, and no Video Noise reduction.

Considering that probably 50% of viewing in the bedroom will be SD, although it'll be from more than 12 feet away, I'm a little concerned about noise in my viewing.

What say you?

In a digital age I see very little need for noise reduction. Some attempt to minimize digital artifacts but this to me is simply trying to put a bandaid over the problem. I wouldn't worry about it...I usually turn all the added "features" off anyway.
