I never ran into this problem for some reason with Dreamweaver. Using Quanta 3.5 almost has me pulling my hair out. Before I would just leave the ' and the " as they were in the text document I was copying and pasting from into my web site articles. Then I switch to Quanta along with Linux on my laptop and found out a problem. Quanta has a hard time translating the quotes and sometimes translates them into (?) symbols and would appear as wierd characters while viewed in a browser. Quanta only seems to do this randomly and only if the originating document is Windows based from what I can tell.
So the question is, are the quotation marks a nono in the HTML world replaced by the &r squo; and &q uot; or is this Quanta throwing a fit with what source I get my text from. It's anoying having to go back and make changes and check my document to see if there isn't any quoatation marks and if so, has Quanta changed them. I have an article due on Friday that has several quoatations in it and rather not change them if not needed.
Thanks!
