Given that we know they are descendants of people who migrated here from Europe and Asia, how are they TRUE Americans?

Fern

If you wanna put it that way then were all africans......
I mean if you really want to trace back thousands of years.

Get real, the native americans were here first, period. And now they get put in reserves and are allwoed to have casinos and sell tax free cigarettes and spend all day drunk with their goverment subsidy.
Are you blind or do you not see them being opressed. If I were drunk all day I wouldnt give a fuck about regaining control of my homeland either.

Nope, but we have the usual suspects along with the new sockpuppet guy.

Im sure your very proud of "being american" and even have a nice big flag on your lawn.
But sometimes the biggest patriots are the ones who want change.....

So before you go on assuming whos antiamerican and whos not get your screws tightned, cause as far as im concerned ppl like you are what cause other countrys to be anti american.
Nuff said

And btw, what makes you think im a sockpuppet? Or a smurf which is another term for that?
lol who do you think I am? And yes I know your talking about me.

I am both not blind and do not see oppression. Do you honestly think there are government thugs forcing people to drink alcohol? Really?

FYI the Irish,Italians and Jews helped build most of the eastern part of this country....... And they had to form their own "protection" from the white protestants that didnt want them here.
As for the native americans, they are the only TRUE americans.
Rest of us are all just on their land.

Are you one of those idiots who says that people born here should "go home" to some country they never lived in?

Only possible in the liberal mind. Relevance to a liberal is always centered around themselves and how they feel.

95% of what's said here about liberals is wrong or lies, I can't remember the other 5%.

That one's just weird.

Then you admit no one is making them drink. Good start, it is not the government's fault they are drunk.

Put yourself in an indians shoes, your jobless, got a check, fuck it Ill just get drunk. And thats exactly what the goverment wants them doing.

Yet you admit they have free will and can decide to actually NOT do it, right?

EDIT: I admit, once hooked on alcohol, it is VERY hard to stop drinking. Addiction is a bitch. American Indians know they are easily addicted, so they should never start.

A great crime was committed against the natives here long ago.

But that doesn't make them 'the only real Americans'.

Just because some historic people lived in the wilderness here a long time ago does not mean that the people who have lived here and built a civilization here for generations and centuries aren't 'real Americans'. They are, as much or more than the old primitive cultures who were here first, and slaughtered. This land has a new culture now.

Similar situations exist for Mexicans and the natives they displaced, Australians and the natives they displaced, and many other places. Are they not 'real' Mexicans and Australians?

By the way, early Homo Sapiens in Africa displaced the humanoid people who were there before them... we all have some neanderthal DNA from that period (Republicans have more).

People displaced people everywhere forever. Interestingly enough through America's guidance this is not considered appropriate anymore when it was the norm since humans were alive. Again 1776 is most important date in world history.

while i generally speaking dont care too much about history...i will say there was something hallow about standing inside the jefferson memorial (still gotta get to the others in DC)...

the founders were truly great men, and had a love for what the united states could be - and should be - that i suspect would rarely be found today.

Why shouldn't the magna carta be any less important than 1776?
Did America continue to live out the glorious 1776 in its dealings with Latin America, Cuba, Hawaii, Philippines in the 19/20th centuries?

You right wingers are like 5 year olds who only know how to insult and cant back up any of your claims with facts. Congrats, you are officially another candidate for being sent for reeducation camp.

Why should or why shouldn't?

The Magna Carta was historically important as a milestone of any questioning of absolute authority by the king, which had been the norm before.

But it's widely misunderstood and overrated - it was nothing more than the second-tier nobility organizing (the first union!) and forcing the king to give them more power.

An agreement the king promptly reneged on, and not much use to the people.
