How important are good quality IDE cables? Been having problems...

Hi ppl,

I just switched to the excellent case Aopen HX-08.

But... My CD performance (cant see any HDD performance decrease) have gone down AND my comp hangs when trying to burn CDs.

The cables are kinda streched and also bent a bit to work in the Huge case. Do you have any experience in cables (too short, too bent, too poor...) causing these problems.
