Just wondering... I've never heard of this back in the Celeron 300A days...
I'm currently plan on oc a p4 1.6a to 2.4Ghz... would I have problem with
generic power source?

Thanks,

No, as long as it puts out enough power for your system.

Make sure that you get a power supply that is big enough - the new AMDs would do best with at least a 350, I am running an Athlon XP 2000+ with a moderate number of components and a 400 watt. I do like Antecs though because they have a smart fan that runs at the speed that the system need to keep cool.

Sorry should ahve read your post better - but you will need at least a 400 watt in my opinon, but it can't hurt to get too big of a power supply, it will last for several upgrades.

I got a 350w for my P4...
But I didn't know the power supply size matters???
I've always thought that bigger power supply means it could power
more devices??.. I only got a DVD/Zip/Floppy right now... I should be
fine right?? (Everything else is on-board.. 😀)
